About me

I am a translator; I translate into my mother tongue - Italian - from English, French and Spanish. I've been happily translating since January 1999. My field of choice is the vast territory of self-help books and wellbeing manuals, specifically the following: medicine, alternative and complementary medicine, parenting, psychology, health and nutrition, personal development.

During my 3rd and final year at the School for Interpreters and Translators, I fell in love with Translation Studies, an academic discipline where translation meets linguistics, philosophy, and cultural studies. So I packed up and went to Manchester (UMIST), where I did my MSc. But it wasn't enough for me. I wanted to know more. So I moved down to Coventry (Warwick Uni.) and started a PhD part-time (the rest of the time I was guess what? Yes, translating), which I successfully completed in January 2007.

In this blog, I'm trying to put together theory and practice, and to make it a happy marriage. Enjoy!
